Efficiency of a newspaper production infrastructure is mainly determined by it's ability to manage and integrate single workflow processes. From when the pages are outputted from the editorial system, often split in one or more editions, to when they are collected in each printing site's mail room as a finished product, it is necessary that they undergo each production phase and that all is supervised and controlled by the staff assigned.

 

 

In the workflow area, GMDE can offer a range of modular solutions (belonging to the Agfa Arkitex family) to distribute pages between editorial centres and printing sites ensuring the correct workflow management to match and move pages from the editorial system to output devices.

As well as other tasks, Agfa workflow verifies that pages are transmitted to the correct print site and outputted on the proper exposing unit. At the same time, it gives feedback on production progress, highlighting any problems or errors to operators.
